Summer Time

Summertime is the best here on the Southern Coast of Oregon. We’ve finally made it out of those rainy days of Winter and it’s nothing but sunshine for the next few months.

Blaise and I have been busy with the market season here in Coos Bay and surrounding area that started first week in May. School is out this week and things will be ramping up with more visitors and tourists in the area.

We love being part of the market community and have met and made some wonderful connections and friends. We feel incredibly grateful to enjoy local and fresh organic fruits and vegetables weekly at the market from our locals farmers.

It is a busy time of year for Blaise and I but we try to get out to enjoy all that the coast has to offer. It’s nice to live so close to the ocean and enjoy a morning walk or afternoon hike.

Please enjoy a few pictures of some road trips and local happenings here in Coos Bay.

Cheers !

New Beginnings

I don’t know about you but has January been the longest month ever? We are so ready for some warmth and sunshine.

They say:

“You'll never do a whole lot unless you're brave enough to try.”

“You are never too old to start over”

“The beginning is alway today”

“Never feel guilty for starting again”

“Every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end”

I think it’s the last quote that resonates here.  There is no flowery way to say this but, Blaise and I quickly realized that opening a physical space for the Art Cellar was a mistake.

I won’t go into the many ways in which it was, so I won’t.  We still made a kick ass

e-commerce website where you can purchase Art Cards and more, stay in touch and in the loop for all things Blaise and Laurie Ann.

The name will stay the same … Art Cellar Oregon. Instead of a Creative Oasis it will be a

Creative Collaboration. A space to celebrate and showcase Blaise and myself and our never ending collaborative spirit.

We invite all creatives to reach out to us if you are interested in working together is some creative capacity.

The shop will be open until February 24th and then continue be a part of the Coos Bay Farmers Market this summer May-October 2024.

The Art Cellar is officially open !

We are so excited to bring you some exciting art and offerings in the coming days and months. We know it’s a busy time of year but if you are here on the Southern Oregon Coast or are traveling through, please stop by, relax and enjoy some fabulous art and gifts.

We have 4 incredible artists showing here at the Art Cellar. First, our very own Blaise Barshaw, owner and resident artist. He has several original paper cuts and a light box up in the gallery. He has over 100 hand drawn art cards on display! Who wouldn’t want an original drawing and gift for that special occasion.

Our other 3 artists showing in the gallery are Jeanette Noga, IG @longo._ . Fabulous painter, weaver and jewelry maker. Jeanette has 3 incredible pieces you’ll surely enjoy.

Kimber Follevaag IG @kimber_follevaag Fiber artist extraordinaire. Her weaving is very unique and we are honored to have her hanging in the gallery.

Veronika Akhramovich IG @nika_colormood . Nika recently moved to Coos Bay from Belarus. Her acrylics on canvas are beautiful with a style all her own.

Finally, we have Polymer Clay Jewelry from Cord and Clay Co ( yours truly, Laurie Ann ) and Hand Poured Candles from FootNote Candles, coconut soy wax and hand poured right here in the PNW.
